Lake pleasant regional park is located north west of Phoenix. The park is known for its iconic recreational artificial lake attracting visitors from all over the valley.
I got a chance to explore this natural landscape over memorial day weekend and I had a blast. In this article, I put together a list of activities that you can enjoy while in the park, how to get there and what to keep in mind.
How to get to lake pleasant?
It is around a one hour drive to get to the lake from metro phoenix. As I always I defer to Goggle maps to help me with the directions.

What activities the park offers?
There are a lot of activities to choose from especially for water sports lovers.
Jet Skiing
Lake Pleasant is a major water sports recreation center for the Phoenix metro area. The lake has an average depth of 70 feet with a maximum depth of 170 feet.
You can bring your own jet ski or rent one from the rental office in the marina. It is better to make reservations ahead of time to secure your rental. It gets quite busy if you plan your visit during a holiday or long weekend. The prices on site are listed bellow:
Swimming
The lake is also open for kids and adults to splash in the water and cool down from Arizona’s heat.
Fishing
Lake Pleasant is home to 12 species of fish such as tilapia, white bass and much more. Fishing in the state of Arizona requires a fishing licence, so keep that in mind before heading to your next fishing adventure!
Boating and Kayaking
Or you can enjoy going on a boat stroll or adventure in a kayak. Kayaking is one of my favorite activities to hit two birds with one stone: get a good workout and explore cool water spots.
Camping

Dinner cruises
I haven’t experienced this yet but I heard all good feedback about dinner cruises in Lake Pleasant. Some of them are public and some can be reserved for private parties. More information can be found here https://www.lakepleasantcruises.com/
How about food?
There are a few restaurants to choose from at lake pleasant. I had lunch at Scorpion Bay Club in the marina and I very much enjoyed their fish tacos.
