When I was in Cusco, a lot of people recommended that I make time to visit ChocoMuseo (Chocolate Museum) and I am very glad I did!!!
ChocoMuseo is a cacao and chocolate museum located in the heart of Cusco, Peru. The museum showcases the history of the cacao tree in Peru and how chocolate is made from organic cacao beans.
ChocoMuseo also offers chocolate workshops and guided group tours in cacao farms.
- Location: Calle Garcilaso 210, Cusco 08002, Peru
- Hours: 8:00 AM – 8:30 PM
- Website: https://www.chocomuseo.com/peru/cusco/
- Phone number: +51 84 244765
The Museo (Museum) has two floors with separate entrances.
The first floor has an entrance door facing the plaza de regocio; they use this floor to display their chocolate products.
The second floor is more of a mini museum and is accessible from the back of the building.
The museum walks you through the phases that a small cacao been goes through to make delicious mouth watering chocolate
There are also displays of chocolate made sculptures such as the famous Incan site of Machu Picchu.
I enjoyed sitting on the porch to sip an organic chocolate drink mixed with milk while enjoying a magnificent view of downtown Cusco.
If you are visiting Cusco, make sure you stop by! You are in for a sweet treat of the world’s perfect food… chemically speaking!!
